Really Quick Anatomy Help by seyuri Really Quick Anatomy Help by seyuri

I personally feel that I suck at anatomy.
I usually make my figures too elongated or the hips too wide.
Anyway.

But a few of you have requested me to make this xD
Sooo.. Yeah.

This is just how /I/ draw my female characters.
Doesn't mean it's correct.

So yeah hurr.
I don't know if it'll help you or whatever. But yeah.

Omggggggg. I suck ass at heads lol. But if you want, I can try.
Errr. Eyes are an iffy but I can always try lol.
I'll try to do it as un-stylized as possible.

Great, thank you so much Aeryn <3
It's weird, I don't think I'm too bad at the actual body (or rather, I'm improving) but the face and everything-I SUCK! I don't even know @.@

Lol that's so unique of you.
Usually people have better sense of faces other than bodies aha!
Buuuuut, I'll try.

As a female who's 6'2", I always make my females tall, and their legs are generally too long, even for someone my height. lol.

This is a nice, simple guide though. It's kind of the basics of proportions, and each person can choose to modify them as they choose for their own style. :)

Haha! Wow! You're very tall! You can totally be a model<3
I'm only 5,6 xD Haha!

But I tend to elongate things. Alot D:
I'm glad you found it somewhat helpful^^
It's not correct, but oh well xDD

Haha. Thanks :) Too bad you also have to be a twig in order to model. 5'6" is average though, so it's not like you're short. lol

Elongating things isn't always a bad thing. I've seen a lot of artists who elongate, and they have beautiful art. CLAMP is one great example of that.

UGH RIGHT o.o

Even if you're BONE-THIN. If you have hip structure, you can't. xD
Like my body is naturally curvy. Even when I was severely underweight, I still had hips xDDD

Oh gosh CLAMP. I forgot about them^^ You're so right about their elongated proportions!

I just don't understand why they make clothes to fit a rail thin body type. Who actually has that type of figure? lol

I love CLAMP. Have you read Wish or Clover? One of the background artists did the character art for them, and they're gorgeous. I love CLAMP's art in general, but those two series have more adult art than the normal series.

It's fine if you draw ladies with wide hips. It's your style. You are not doing realism. :) There is no "correct" form of art. I personally have a thing for the female style that has wide hips and super long/skinny legs/arms. Like :iconlithium-tears:. :D So don't let people make you worry about "correct" too much. ;)

And don't forget the several different body types women have.
Pfft.

I just draw with whatever makes me happy lol.

But you're right^^~
For me, as long as it looks remotely correct, it's whatever.
Art is art you know C:

To be fair
This is anatomy for only one body type
There are ladies with wide hips and tiny shoulders
Or itty bitty waists
Or no waists at all
Of course there are some general ground rules, but. -u- Different body shapes are wondrous things.

Exactly. I am very much well-aware of that.
Which is why I said, this is just a quick, overall thing of how I usually do my bodies.
Not saying it was all of it.

But this was just for a quick thing. For a few people who have been asking how I do things.

If I had the time and energy to create a full-blown tutorial, I would go in depth with the bodytypes and what not.

I simply don't have the interest in doing a full-blown tutorial since well.. there are a ton already out there xD
